A huge part of any wedding day is the food oh glorious food. The bride and groom spend ages choosing it, the chef spends ages making it perfect, and ultimately the guests who have waited ages to eat it should enjoy it immensely.
There are so many wonderful venues now that are not hotels where everything is on site. This is great for couples because if gives them so much flexibility on the suppliers they choose to be a part of their day and this is a huge upside. The downside is making sure that amongst so many to choose from they get it right. Sabrina and I have seen so many come and go over the years but Chimneys Catering is one that really stands out for us.
We were lucky enough to be invited to lunch by Sam Chalmers at their premises last week and oh wow how good was it to eat the amazing food that we see so often at our weddings. The wine choices were just sublime and I confess I felt like a VIP…hick!
We are true believers that all the suppliers involved in a wedding day should work with each other to ensure that things go smoothly and create the most wonderful atmosphere for a bride, groom and their guests. We make sure that we do not over run so that the chef who has slaved over a hot stove is able to serve the food just the way it was intended – fresh and yummy. In turn they liaise with us, and I can honestly say that Chimneys are a first class company with quality food and it is always a pleasure to work with them.
Today’s image was taken at Smeetham Hall Barn, Bulmer, Essex and illustrates some of the amazing canapés served by Chimneys. On a photography note we like to tell stories and the details are all part of that story. The wedding may now be over, the canapés eaten but this image immortalises them forever; gosh it makes my mouth water!
It has been another busy week at Pengelly Photography, amongst meeting lots of lovely new couples I have been mentoring two of my long standing mentees and then it was off ‘up north’ for a weekend of competition judging and assessing…phew!
I will be back in touch with a blog later in the week.
