We have been really looking forward to finally getting round to blogging the wonderful wedding of Carlene and Sam who got married at St Andrew’s Church Great Cornard and then onto Dove Barn for their reception.
I have know Carlene and her family for many years and it was an honour when Carlene and Sam chose us to photograph their wedding, it was also really nice to be photographing another local wedding which we don’t seem to do so much these days and to work with the lovely Emma Quinn again.
We started off at Caroline’s house ( Carlene’s Mum) where the girls were having their hair and make up done and I was especially pleased to have spotted a cornfield nearby which I was going to make sure we utilised !
The girls were great fun to work with and there was a lot of laughter all round while we took the photographs. It was then off to the Church to meet Sam and the boys who looked very smart in their suits. We were kept very busy as guests started to arrive quite a few who we knew so it was good to chat and catch up with people while we were working! There was a lot to capture at the Church especially the bunting hanging in the doorway which was drawn by the children from Carlene’s class at the school where she works, little personal touches like this always adds a little something special to a wedding and also shows how much Carlene is though of by the children.
As the sun shone on another beautiful Summer’s day Carlene arrived at the Church looking absolutely stunning and was given away by her Grandad who walked her down the aisle. After a few group photos at the Church it was off to Dove Barn for a few more photos and then time to relax and chat with guests, that’s the Bride and Groom off course not us as we had lots to photograph!!
As it was a beautiful warm Summers evening Carlene and Sam were happy to come out after speeches for a few relaxed and a few contemporary together shots and then it was back to the barn for some dancing and the party to begin.
Thank you Carlene and Sam for letting us be part of your special day and I think the pictures speak for themselves on what a great day it was.
