Leez Priory Wedding Photography for Laura and Mark

Another visit back to Leez Priory this time for the lovely Laura and Mark, unfortunately the weather was not so kind to us with the wind and rain so a lot of the photographs had to be taken inside, but we did get a small window of opportunity and Laura and Mark braved the cold to get the photos they wanted, as Laura and Mark live and work in Oman the drop in temperature did take a bit of getting used to!!It was also really nice to catch up with all of Mark’s family again as we had previously photographed his sister Louise and Brother-in-law Lee’s wedding at Gosfield Hall.

It is always lovely to be recommended by couples to friends and family, we feel very lucky to get a lot of our work this way and thank all our lovely couples for doing so.

Here are a few of the photographs from Laura and Mark’s wedding and thank you for letting us be part of your special day.

Wedding Photographers for Leez Priory Chelmsford Essex – Charlotte and Lee

Good Afternoon Bloggers,

Today we are featuring a wedding at Leez Priory, Chelmsford, Essex of a really fun couple Charlotte and Lee.  I use fun a lot to describe my wonderful Brides and Grooms and that’s pure and simple; wedding photography with all of them is enormous fun and a privilege.

Leez Priory is a magnificent venue set just outside Chelmsford and is a 16th Century Tudor mansion nestled in 40 acres of grounds with some stunning lakes.  I come over all Henry VIII when I visit here, although I only called Sabrina a wench the once 😉  don’t think I would survive a second attempt!  Those KP charms I mentioned last week definitely took a nose dive that day.

So here are today’s images and just look at that door in image one; it is a real beauty and I think Lee looks fantastic in this image.  I have placed him just off centre to make use of the panelling to ensure that the viewers eye is immediately drawn to him then the texture of the door behind.  The muted colour tones work well here and bring Charlotte and Lee to the foreground of this image with the foliage enhancing rather than overtaking in the background.  Every time I visit this venue the sight of that building just makes me go wow; what a magnificent backdrop for your wedding day; now throw me a chicken leg to gnaw on; you see gone all Henry VIII again.  Last but not least for today a bit of waft and swish from our lovely bride.  I do love movement in the still image and there is something quite lovely when a wedding dress swishes to reveal the layers underneath.  This helps to add movement and depth to the still image; add a soupcon of black and white, et voila…perfection.

We have an extremely busy month here at Pengelly Photography; lots of weddings, which to us equals lots of fun.  To our Brides and Grooms we are yet to photograph, we are very much looking forward to being a part of your special day.  To those that we have already photographed, quite simply; thank you.

Kevin and Sabrina 🙂

Essex Classical Wedding Photography at Leez Priory, Chelmsford, Essex – Image of the Week

Week 23

Good Morning Pengelly lovers 😉

This is a classical image from the Essex wedding photography of Charlotte and Lee who were married at Leez Priory, Chelmsford, Essex. In my last blog I spoke about architecture, well take a lookey at this!

This is enough to get my heart racing and the result is a beautiful black and white Pengelly signature image.  Classical, beautiful and timeless; now black and white is not just a simple matter of ‘grey scaling’ since the advent of digital photography any experienced and artistic professional will have spent hours perfecting their own black and white style.  I am often complimented on mine and lots of hard work has gone into getting this signature look, but the recipe is a secret as the Coca Cola recipe!

I love the black and white, I love the drama and I love the crop; crikey look at me bigging myself up.  Joking aside I always think that enthusiasm really come across in images and this also transfers to the subjects that I am photographing too.

I hope you like this as much as I do.

Check back in next week for our wedding blog.

Kevin and Sabrina 🙂
